DAIKOMYO
Empowering Gems
by Kathryn
McKinnon
DAIKOMYO was
founded by Kathryn S. McKinnon in 2004 and is located in Marblehead,
Massachusetts. The company was created with the intention
of bringing joy, empowerment and healing to those who wear our
products. DAIKOMYO
is more than simple adornment. The word
means “Enlightenment” and “To heal the soul.” In addition to its
cosmetic beauty, this jewelry is infused with an ancient healing
energy intended to amplify the specific healing
properties which are believed to reside within the gems. When
different combinations of gems are worn together, the effects may be
very subtle, yet powerful. As jewelry, these creations can become
personal power pieces, that over time, when worn with “intention,”
may help the wearer achieve specific goals through various stages of
life.
DAIKOMYO
can be worn for many purposes: to attract abundance,
reduce stress, attract love and harmonious relationships, lose
weight, Increase fertility or virility, bring clarity of purpose,
create success in career and business, enhance focus and
communication, and ease changes and transitions in life as in PMS
and Menopause.
DAIKOMYO
provides beautiful hand-made
jewelry and gift items for women, men, children and
pets at reasonable prices! Some of the current
products include necklaces, pendants, earrings and bracelets
for women and children, cufflinks, keychains and boxed sets of
loose gem nuggets for men, and collar enhancer gems for
pets, all intended to enhance Serenity, Good Health
and Abundance. Customized pieces also
can be created to address specific physical, spiritual, and
emotional needs in conjunction with wardrobe.
Because all of our pieces are hand-made
with precious and semi-precious gems, each is unique, so
no two are exactly alike. As a result, our products may
vary slightly from pictures shown and from piece to piece but we
make every attempt to describe and represent the products accurately
and to satisfy our
customers.
Care and
Cleaning: Gems are fragile and can crack or break if
they come into contact with any hard surface. Always “roll” a
stretch bracelet over the wrist. Keep this jewelry away from harsh
chemicals, hairspray, lotion and perfume. Clean the jewelry with a
soft, white cotton cloth moistened with cool water. Dry with white
cotton cloth. Periodically, place in full moonlight for a few hours
or place in a dish with dry sea salt to eliminate any negative
energy that has been transferred to the gems over time.
Occasionally any piece of jewelry can break from
normal use. This is unfortunate unless it is jewelry worn with the
intention of healing. Ancient Wisdom says that under these
circumstances it is good luck, for it means the wearer has paid off
a "karmic debt." If this happens, it is advisable to throw the
jewelry tag or a small piece of the jewelry into a body of
water. It is believed that this symbolic action will release the
debt and end the karmic cycle. Then have the jewelry restrung. It
will be ready to wear and enjoy once
more.
Look for the rainbows in our jewelry!
The significance of finding rainbows in gems
cannot be overstated. The rainbow is a sign that the sun is always
behind the clouds of our doubt and confusion. We incorporate rainbow
gems into our jewelry because they are gifts from the universe and
can bring special blessings to the wearer. By simply holding the
rainbow gem and placing it near the heart, feelings of sadness and
doubt can be replaced with joy, confidence, enthusiasm and love.
Experience these delightful gifts with pleasure and joy!
Stories and comments about
DAIKOMYO
Jewelry
Since childhood I have been fascinated by
rocks and minerals. That fascination lives on today every time I
create a new piece of jewelry. I first became interested in the
healing power of gems after a visit to Hong Kong. I bought a
beautiful lavender necklace which I was told was lavender jade.
I am also a professional singer. I wore the necklace one day
while cantoring at our local Catholic Church. That day I seemed
to be in unusually good voice. At least that was my perception.
Others commented too that my voice sounded
especially lovely that day. Over time, I continued to wear the
necklace while singing and it seemed to really help me sing better.
A few months later, I had the necklace appraised and was told by the
jeweler that the necklace was not jade but lavender amethyst. I was
curious and began to research the healing properties of gems and in
particular, lavender amethyst. To my amazement, I discovered that
lavender amethyst is said to help open the throat. It
appears the necklace really did help me to
sing better!.
- When my children were little and
they sometimes got a little over-excited during
moments when they needed to remain calm, I had them
wear bracelets made of smoky quartz. It did a remarkable job
of helping them calm down.
The story of the
growing rose
- I made a custom necklace for a woman. When
she came to pick it up she gave me a long stem cut rose as a
friendly gesture of thanks. I placed it in a bud vase with some
water and put it in the middle of the table where the DAIKOMYO
jewelry was displayed. After about a week, I expected to throw it
away because cut flowers generally last a week but to my surprise,
it hadn't opened up. After another week, I noticed that it was
just beginning to open up and I noticed something else: There were
little leaf buds beginning to pop out from the stem. I put some
more water in the vase and left it alone. After a few more days,
to my astonishment, I observed that the leaf buds were growing and
the flower bud was beginning to open up. This was around Easter.
My mother-in-law, who was visiting and is a flower
judge observed the rose and said she had never seen anything
like it before. Yet another week went by and the rose finally
began to fade. By the time the rose died, the new leaves
had actually grown to 4 inches and the rose had lasted 4 weeks! If
I hadn't observed it for myself, I never would have believed that
a cut flower could continue to grow. The only explanation I have
is that the energy from the gems on the table is what helped
to keep the rose alive and growing.
- I had just acquired a
powerful azurite healing stone. When I held the
stone for the first time, I felt this rush of energy go from my
heart all the way to my sinuses and head. When I gave it to my son
to hold, he said it gave him a slight headache. When friend
of mine came to look at the new inventory of jewelry I handed her
the azurite to see if she could feel anything. She said
it immediately opened up her sinuses. She had been struggling with
sinus problems for years. Azurite is said to help relieve
sinus issues.
-
A friend purchased a three-strand
clear quartz choker. She leads a hectic life with
two young boys and needed something to help her deal with
stress. Clear quartz is believed to be one of the most
powerful healing minerals and is said to bring serenity to the
wearer. It is believed to be a deep soul cleanser which
works on all levels to cleanse the energy centers in the
body. A few days later she said,"When I
wear the necklace, it makes me feel very peaceful.
Friends also tell me that I glow when I wear
it."
- A customer bought a green
tourmaline bracelet with the intention of helping her lose weight.
Green tourmaline is said to help facilitate weight loss.
After a week of wearing the bracelet with intention, she said
she lost 10 pounds! She said, "Maybe it was mind over
matter, but it helped me!"
- A woman came to buy some jewelry. She is
very sensitive and says she can hear dog whistles. When she came
over to the jewelry, she said she could feel a vibration
of energy coming from the table where the jewelry was
displayed!
- A customer purchased a
moonstone bracelet to help her get through the hardest part
of the month--those days when she has PMS and has to get the
kids ready for school. Moonstone is believed to help calm
emotions and fluid imbalances and is said to help with PMS and
Menopause. This woman wears the bracelet religiously during this
time of the month and says, "It really helps me stay
calm."
